The movie is full of entertainment and will appeal to a wide audience of both young and old. The video game references will be well received by older viewers, while younger viewers will love the rest of the movie.

Wreck-It Ralph is a 3D computer-animated action-comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, not the usual Disney/Pixar combination. It is the 52nd animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, following Winnie the Pooh (2011).

The movie takes me back to the old days when graphics weren’t key when making a video game—just fun. I loved seeing M. Bison and Zangief from Street Fighter.

Wreck-It Ralph is a complete package of laughter, fun, and some deep emotional tones, making it good for everyone.

My favorite part of this movie is the support group for video game villains. All the villains had issues with being tagged as the bad guy.

Wreck-It Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) is a character in a video game. He is the bad guy in the game, and the game's protagonist. His antagonist is the game's perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voiced by Jack McBrayer).

Ralph is fed up with being the bad guy, wishing he could also get a hero’s medal. One day, at a bar, he runs into a first-person shooter game character who is running out of his mind, and Ralph takes advantage. He knocks out the character from the first-person shooter game, takes his gear, and sets himself up to accomplish the game's objective in hopes of earning a medal.

Things take a turn for the worse when Ralph finds out that the character he was impersonating was in a game that was wild and dangerous. He panics, wrecks the gameplay, and while the others reset for another run, Ralph breaks all protocols as he goes after the medal he so desperately craves.

This craving leads him to break into another arcade game, where he meets Vanellope von Schweetz (voiced by Sarah Silverman), a young troublemaking "glitch" from a candy-coated cart racing game. Vanellope is different, and her happy mood and goal-getting behavior turn Ralph’s life around, showing him that there’s more to life than his selfish ambition of being accepted by everyone.

Wreck-It Ralph is directed by Rich Moore, who is best known for his work on The Simpsons.

The movie had been in production since the '80s but had been pushed back several times. Disney finally went ahead, and just like Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), they featured a lot of cameo characters. They featured characters from many video games, like Clyde the orange ghost from Pac-Man, Doctor Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, and Bowser from Super Mario Bros.

Rich Moore hinted that he and Disney may do a sequel that could explore online and console gaming. Wreck-It Ralph is one movie that you will enjoy on a nice afternoon with your kids or a group of friends, who will be thrilled to see some old favorite villains. It’s a fun movie, and I highly recommend that you give it a try.
