This LEGO movie is a great mix of comedy and Batman-style action. It doesn’t even try to ignore the existence of the Batman movie universe or take The Bat too seriously. Instead, it taps into and references every single Batman movie, all the way back to the 1940s. It provides enough nostalgia for older fans, ensuring no one feels left out.

The producers even included villains from Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Matrix, and many more to capture the attention of a wider audience. The movie also features a scene inspired by Jerry Maguire, references the cult classic Pulp Fiction, and nods to countless other films you can pick up on while watching. I have to be honest, this movie is a nice production job, even though I do not rate it that high, I can see why people will love it for what it is. The references to various movies, is excellent scripting.

This computer-animated movie portrays Batman as an egotistical, sentimental superhero who struggles to balance his crime-fighting life with being around others. He even ignores the presence of the criminals who ensure he has crimes to solve every night.

Before seeing the movie, I read that The LEGO Batman Movie trumps Batman v Superman, and I had to watch it to see for myself. One thing’s for sure: LEGO movies are jokes that play around in the serious fictional universes we’ve come to love and respect. This movie truly outshines Batman v Superman and does an excellent job with its voice casting. I loved Will Arnett’s voice as The Bat, and the producers nailed the screenplay, making the movie full of fun with no dull moments.

The plot starts with Batman saving the day, as usual, and breaking the Joker’s heart in the process. The Joker tells Batman that he’s his main rival and that there’s a special connection between them—a statement Batman rejects, leaving the Joker feeling hurt and rejected.

Now, driven by revenge, the Joker devises a plan to wreak havoc on Gotham City, hoping to make Batman understand that there’s no Batman without the Joker.

The movie brings together the Bat family as Batman learns to transition from a solo vigilante to a team player.

This is an animation that makes the best of its characters and uses everything at its disposal to deliver a memorable movie for fans.

Lastly, while the plot offers some lighthearted fun, it doesn’t dig deep into the characters and the nonstop cameos, though entertaining, sometimes overwhelm the story.
