I believe this movie
is way better than the previous two. It has everything you want – suspense,
action, thrills, and drama. I guess motorcycle chases with raptors on your
heels are a thing, with numerous collateral damages, but Owen made it out
alive, as the good guys always do. The movie does one thing that I love: it
breaks the six ensemble casts apart into groups and lets them find each other
under some weird circumstances. If I count their pilot, then there were seven
people. The movie itself is a handful of joy and excitement, and I know
everyone will love it. Because there’s nothing that can beat nostalgia. The
movie brought back familiar scenes from the
first movie that made me smile with joy.
The movie gives us a
brief start to the new world where humans and dinosaurs co-exist.
The three from the first movie (1993’s Jurassic Park), Alan (Sam Neill), Ellie (Laura Dern), and Ian (Jeff Goldblum), are back, and it was cool having them back to knock heads and work alongside the new cast in this movie series.
Set four years after the events of Jurassic
World: Fallen Kingdom, Ellie came to see Alan because she discovered a
mutated locust with prehistoric DNA that is wreaking havoc on crops. She
believes the locust was bio-designed. She discovered that the locust only
attacks crops not grown by Biosyn, and she wants Alan to help investigate.
Ellie’s theory is that Biosyn is trying to dominate world food production, so
she needs a sample of their contaminated DNA from the lab where they were grown
to prove it. The only way to get to their sanctuary is via an invite, which they
got from Ian. Ian started working at Biosyn for just a few weeks, giving talks
and inspiring the staff. It turns out the three are in the same boat, wondering
what is going on at Biosyn.
Our other three –
Owen (Chris Pratt), Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), and Maisie – are also
involved. If you recall, Maisie is Benjamin Lockwood's cloned granddaughter.
She became the adoptive daughter of Owen and Claire. She was kidnapped by
Biosyn, who wanted to study her DNA because she was created without the birth
defects of her original. They also stole a baby raptor – the child of Blue, who
we remember is Owen's pet raptor. Blue reproduced without a mate, which is also
why Biosyn wants her, too.
How the paths of the
six (or seven) cross and how they manage to stop Biosyn is what this movie is
about.
Biosyn’s sanctuary is home to many dinosaurs captured from roaming about or
rescued.
The movie, for me,
was a massive enjoyment, and it was worth every minute.
